- SCP-9805 was a mysterious entity that briefly appeared during a scientific experiment involving an anechoic chamber and a person taking photos. The entity, which had a physical presence and made a faint chattering sound, was only noticed after the photos were developed, though those involved experienced memory loss about the event. The photos themselves, now kept in a plastic bag, surprisingly make viewers feel calm.

- John Murray Spear was a 19th-century American spiritualist minister known for his unusual attempt to construct an electrically powered "Messiah" called the "New Motive Power." Initially a Universalist minister and social reformer, Spear later embraced Spiritualism, claiming communication with a group of spirits he called "The Association of Electrizers." Believing this group intended to bring new technology for spiritual freedom, he and his followers built the machine from copper, zinc, magnets, and a dining room table, intending it to be a messianic perpetual motion device. After a ritualistic "birthing" that failed to animate it, the machine was destroyed.
