feat: add optional token input for explicit push authentication#2
Merged
Conversation
Add an optional `token` input so callers can authenticate the push to the gitcoverage branch explicitly instead of relying on actions/checkout persisting credentials. When provided, configure a temporary, URL-scoped git credential helper that returns x-access-token / <token>, reading the token from the GITCOVERAGE_GIT_TOKEN environment variable so the value is never written to git config. The helper self-disables when the variable is empty, and an always() cleanup step clears it. This lets workflows check out with actions/checkout and persist-credentials: false. Document the input and update the README examples. Add self-test coverage: a credential-fill unit test, a token regression plus cleanup check, a forced- failure cleanup check, and a tokenless guard.
