Description
This PR adds a
dmt lint --remotemode that lints a module packaged as an OCI artifact directly from a container registry.Before / After
Before:
dmt lintonly worked against a local module directory; there was no way to lint a module already published to a registry without pulling and unpacking it manually.After:
pulls the bundle and release images for
my-module:v0.0.1, extracts them, and runs linters against the extracted contents, printing results the same way as a local run.Why do we need it, and what problem does it solve?
Modules are distributed as OCI artifacts, but until now
dmtcould only lint them from a local filesystem checkout. This meant CI/release pipelines that only have access to a built registry artifact couldn't validate it withdmt. Remote linting closes that gap by lettingdmtpull and check the artifact that will actually ship.
