Summary

  • resumes default-branch development as 7.0.1.dev0
  • keeps signed v7.0.0 and its pinned checksum as the stable release
  • updates generated facts and both README languages to distinguish preview bytes from stable bytes
  • fixes claims validation so stable benchmark evidence remains valid after the development artifact changes
  • adds a regression test for stable-versus-preview evidence binding

Why

The release protocol requires the default branch to move immediately to a distinct development version so two byte-different artifacts never report the same bare version. Public benchmark reports continue to describe the signed stable artifact until new release evidence is intentionally generated.

Verification

  • 382 tests pass locally, with one Windows-only case skipped on macOS
  • deterministic build check passes
  • generated claims pass
  • privacy scan passes
  • all JSON, documentation, and whitespace checks pass
  • development artifact: 7.0.1.dev0
  • stable release: v7.0.0
  • stable SHA-256: ae2fc389b3b09c93cb432ab55b71063d98b400da6b18d6bc178322bc8f3fcf69
  • development SHA-256: 182322c812686d5885423f90943a66898236ec04a1ed84ce5b52feb9a4364aee

All nine required CI cells passed on pull request #17. No review threads are open. The repository requires an independent approval that the solo maintainer cannot self-issue, so this post-release maintenance commit uses the documented administrator bypass. It is applied as a non-forced fast-forward to preserve the verified SSH signature.
