Description

These old caches are addressable by digest, and kept indefinitely. Therefore, the size of the local cache will continue to grow (see moby/buildkit#1896 for more information).

The documentation has a sentence that mentions a potential bug. I clicked the link to read through the information, and the issue is linked to a pull request that seems to have been merged.

Suggestion

Then the documentation should be updated to reflect the argument, and to describe its behavior.
