What happened?
In a dual 4K monitor guest setup, pressing the Host Key (bound to the Windows/Super key) or triggering the XFCE Start Menu causes the guest monitor layout to shift and degrades mouse cursor positioning. Interacting with menu elements or launching xfce4-display-settings causes xrandr to drop the resolution completely or disable the secondary monitor entirely.
Tried with 3D Acceleration Off and ON
How can we reproduce this?
- Configure a Linux guest with XFCE4 using 2 virtual displays in VirtualBox manager.
- In the guest OS, set both monitors to 4K resolution ($3840 \times 2160$) via xrandr
- Press the Host / Windows key.
- Observe: The mouse cursor offset immediately becomes misaligned with its interactive screen hitboxes.
- Open xfce4-display-settings from a terminal or menu within the guest.
- Observe: Screen 2 turns off/black, or the resolution drops to a lower fallback mode.
