Disappearing messages

I know it's not possible to enforce at relay level, but app/local level disappearing message timers (hour, day, week, month, etc) would still be pretty useful in the event your device was confiscated or stolen you don't have months or years of message history on your device

Planned! At the moment it is possible to delete your messages manually in v0.4.0 (Preview Release), although self-destructing messages will not be in this release, it is definitely on my list.

Vector ensures relays do delete your events with repeated checks after deletion requests, as long as you're using relays that respect relevant NIPs (which all default Vector Relays do), so when you delete, it disappears from relays too; if Vector is unable to guarantee deletion, it will warn you.
