When trying to use my Passport Prime with blockchain.com, I would scan the generated QR code, but the device popped up an error about "Invalid Secret"
I scanned the generated QR code with my phone and noticed that it contained some special characters (colon and dash) and was also fairly long, as the account name contains a UUID. I removed those things, regenerated the QR code, and then Passport Prime accepted it.
I therefore conclude that the 2FA app has a limitation with one or more of:
- Colons
- Dashes
- Long account names
I did manage to get it to work, but it shouldn't be this difficult.
