Battery loss when turned off.

I fully charged it while it was turned off.
The charging indicator turned green. I turned on the device and immediately turned it off.
The battery was 100% charged at 20:25 18.06.26.I left it and did not turn it on again.
At 8:25 19.06.26, after turning it on, the battery indicator showed that it had lost 25-30% of its battery charge during the 12 hours it was turned off.

I am using the latest firmware version 2.0-dev.354
The previous firmware version had the same problem.

Are you sure this is a problem with the firmware? I dont see how this would be possible. Are other firmwares working correctly on your device?

Yes, that's right, the crosspoint shows 100% charge after switching on on the second day...
I specifically decided to test the charge consumption on the crosspoint in the off state.

My device, which arrived from China, was not discharged at 0% when it was first turned on, it had 80% charge or more. I used the original firmware and crosspoint - they behave the same way and do not waste a charge when turned off at all.
based on this, I exclude the possibility of problems with the hardware.

I really like your firmware, but the heavy discharge makes it impossible for me to use it.

My x4 has been sitting since the last update while I read a physical book, and there's been no noticeable discharge.

Thats really strange. Was the sleep screen visible? Was USB disconnected? @icrock89

The lock screen worked correctly when I turned it off, showing an image. I also didn't notice any issues with the firmware during use.
The only thing I did was download about 10 books and a few fonts.
Сrosspoint works correctly and doesn't drain the battery when turned off.

After charging the book in the evening, I noticed a discharge the next morning when I turned it on. I then decided to test how much it would drain after 12 hours of being turned off.
The USB was not connected. I charged the battery to 100% and the green light, and then disconnected the cable. Then I turned the device on and off.

Is there any way to make the device log or something? I can install the firmware again today, format the memory card, and provide the result tomorrow.

The only thing I can think of is that there might be a problem with the microsd card.
Could you try putting the device to sleep without the microsd card inserted and see how it goes?

Quick question, does the battery still drain without the microSD?

If it still drains, I have a test firmware (https://github.com/pablohc/microreader_plus/tree/feat/battery-logging) based on lastest commit from main 9219241, that logs battery voltage and percentage to a CSV file on every power-on/power-off:

1. Flash this .bin firmware_battery_logging.zip
2. Charge the device to 100% until green LED
3. Disconnect USB FIRST, then Power Off with short-press.
4. After 12 hours, power on with short-press (without USB connected, to ensure the reading reflects actual drain).
5. Extract battery_log.csv from the .microreader folder (via microSD on PC or web manager Download button) and attach it here.

That will tell us exactly how much was lost during sleep.

Thanks for the previous test, the data confirmed a 200 mV / 18% drop in 12 hours during deep sleep.

I've prepared a new .bin, to test if it reduces the drain, please follow these steps:

1. Connect the device to USB to power on.

2. Remove the microSD card from the device, delete these two files from the .microreader folder:
   battery_log.csv
boot_count
   Then reinsert the microSD card with the device powered on.

3. Flash the new firmware: firmware_battery_fix.zip
   The device will boot and log the first entry.

4. Disconnect USB, then Power Off with a short-press of the Power button.
   The device will sleep and log the second entry.

5. Remove the microSD card and verify on your PC that battery_log.csv in the .microreader folder contains both a BOOT and a SLEEP entry. Then reinsert the microSD card into the device WITHOUT powering it on — the device must stay off until step 6.

6. After 12 hours, power on with a short-press (without USB connected, to avoid charging before the reading is taken).
   The device will boot and log the third entry.

7. Remove the microSD card, copy battery_log.csv from the .microreader folder, and attach it here.

The log will start fresh from boot 1, so we can directly compare the voltage drop with your previous test.
